Scheduling irrigations in the Semios platform can be done using either Continuous or Pulse irrigation schedules from the Irrigation Scheduler.

Open the Irrigation Scheduler

  1. Go to Irrigation Scheduler on the left hand panel.

  2. Review the Gantt chart, which shows:

    • Your blocks.

    • Scheduled irrigations.

    • Applied irrigations.

Schedule a Continuous Irrigation

  1. Select Schedule Irrigation.

  2. Select Continuous.

  3. Select the Zone.

  4. Choose the Start Date and Time.

  5. Enter the irrigation Duration.

  6. (Optional) Configure a Repeat schedule.

  7. Select Save and Close or Save and Schedule Another Event.

Schedule a Pulse Irrigation

  1. Select Schedule Irrigation.

  2. Select Pulse.

  3. Select the Zone.

  4. Choose the Start Date and Time.

  5. Enter:

    • Run Time

    • Break Duration

    • Number of Cycles

  6. Review the automatically calculated:

    • End time

    • Total irrigation amount

    • Start and end times for each cycle

  7. (Optional) Configure a Repeat schedule.

  8. Select Save and Close.

New irrigation events appear gray until the schedule is submitted.

Submit the Schedule

If using the Irrigation Scheduler with a supported control system e.g. Nelson-Twig or Wiseconn, you must submit the schedule to the control system. The Submit Schedule button will not be displayed unless you have a connected irrigation control system.

Submitting the schedule:

  • Saves the schedule.

  • Sends irrigation events to the connected irrigation control system (such as WiseConn).

  • Allows the control system to activate irrigations at the scheduled times.

Irrigation events remain gray until the schedule is submitted.

Delete Irrigation Events

  1. Select Delete Events in the bottom-right corner.

  2. Select the events you want to remove.

  3. Select Delete Selected.

If using the Irrigation Scheduler with a connected irrigation control system, deleted events will appear red until the schedule is submitted.

To delete the event on the connected control system:

  1. Select Submit Schedule.

  2. The events are removed from both the connected control system and the Gantt chart.

FAQs

Can I control irrigations with the scheduler?

Yes. The Irrigation Scheduler can integrate with WiseConn and Nelson Twig irrigation control systems. Scheduled events are sent to the connected system, where they are activated by the native controller.

If your system is not integrated, contact your Semios representative or [email protected].

Is the Irrigation Scheduler only for irrigation control?

No. The scheduler can also be used to plan, organize, and share irrigation schedules with your team.

Can I compare planned irrigations with what actually happened?

Yes. The scheduler allows you to compare planned and applied irrigations, helping identify differences between intended and actual irrigation activity.

How do I view water balance and planning data?

  1. Open the Irrigation Scheduler.

  2. Select the gear icon next to Irrigation Schedule.

  3. Enable Show planning data (ETc, Rain, Water Balance).

The scheduler will display ETc, rainfall, and water balance data. Planned Balance updates when irrigation events are saved.

Can I plan pulse irrigations?

Yes. Select Pulse when creating an irrigation event, then configure the run time, break duration, and number of cycles. Pulse irrigations appear on the schedule as multiple connected irrigation events.

Can I delete an event after it has been submitted?

Yes. Delete the event from the scheduler and then select Submit Schedule to send the change to the connected irrigation control system.

Can I schedule fertigation through the Irrigation Scheduler?

Yes. See the Fertigation FAQ for more information.
