What is a Custom View?
A Custom View lets you customize the Semios platform to display the layers, map settings, and date ranges most relevant to your operation.
Custom Views help you focus on the data you need and quickly access it from the Views dropdown menu.
How do I create a Custom View?
You can create a Custom View in two ways:
Option 1: Use the Manage Views button
Under Views Select Manage Views from the platform.
Option 2: Use the Settings menu
Go to Settings > Views.
Select New View.
What information is required when creating a Custom View?
When creating a Custom View, you must configure three components:
1. Layers
Choose the layers you want included in the view.
There is no limit to the number of layers.
For the best experience, we recommend selecting 8 or fewer layers.
Examples of layers include Weather Stations, Irrigation equipment, Pest Monitoring, and other available data sources.
2. Default Map Layer
Select the map layer that will display by default when users open the view.
You can still change the map layer at any time using the Map Controls dropdown menu.
3. Default Date Range
Select the default date range for the Tables and Graphs panel.
How do I save a Custom View?
Enter a name for your view.
Select Save View.
We recommend using a descriptive name so the view is easy to identify later.
After saving, the Custom View will appear in the Views dropdown menu.
How do I duplicate a View?
You can create a new Custom View by copying an existing Semios View or Custom View.
Go to Settings > Views.
Find the view you want to copy.
Select Duplicate.
Modify the settings as needed.
Save the new view.
How do I delete a Custom View?
Go to Settings > Views > Custom Views.
Find the Custom View you want to remove.
Select Delete.
Confirm the deletion.
Can I delete a Semios View?
No. Only Custom Views can be deleted.
What happens when I delete a Custom View?
Deleting a Custom View permanently removes it from your account and the Views menu.
If you simply want to hide a view from the Views dropdown, go to Settings > Views and uncheck the view instead of deleting it.
How do I edit a Custom View?
Go to Settings > Views > Custom Views.
Find the Custom View you want to update.
Select Edit.
Make your changes.
Save the view.
Can I edit a Semios View?
No. Standard Semios Views cannot be edited directly.
To customize a Semios View:
Duplicate the Semios View.
Edit the duplicate.
Save it as a new Custom View.
