Sim Card and Antenna Installation
To install the SIM card, first place the trap upside-down on a flat service and open the sim card door.
Gently slide the silver sim card cover toward the open SIM card door. When it clicks and releases, lift and open the SIM cover.
Insert the SIM card as pictured.
Close and lock the SIM cover, then close the gray SIM card door.
Screw the antenna onto the SMA connector by threading it snugly onto the external antenna SMA connector.
Important: Antennas are required for reliable performance. If the antenna is not attached, it will struggle to connect in marginal service areas.
Battery Installation
(Note: It is desirable to wait to install batteries until after installing in the field with the HUB app. If batteries are installed beforehand, the trap will beep 16 times and flash red, indicating it is not fully configured. In this case the trap should be magnet-reset when installed in the field for timely reporting.)
Lay the trap with the lens facing down on a flat surface.
Loosen the tray retention screw and slide open the battery tray.
Insert 4 D batteries with the "+" side facing out.
Slide the tray in and secure with the retention screw
When the batteries are inserted, the trap will power on and begin looking for a connection.
Trap Boot and Connection Sequence
Magnetic Reset Feature
Traps can stay powered as long as 5 minutes after batteries are removed. To reset traps quickly, take a strong magnet and pass it over the magnet symbol printed on the trap. This will trigger the trap to reset and begin its boot sequence.
Semios Trap Coroplast Assembly
Lay the trap on its side on a flat surface with the lens facing you.
Rotate the coroplast locking tabs so they are pointing away from the walls of the trap body, and insert the coroplast as shown below.
Rotate 2 locking tabs through the notches on the coroplast to lock it in place against the trap housing.
Fold the coroplast and insert the other side into the the other side of the trap and lock the tabs into place to secure it.
Setting Lures and Liners
There are a wide variety of lure types on the market. The images above show how some lure types can be installed on liner cards or hung on the trap door, but are included for reference only.
Please follow the manufacturer's recommendation for placement of lures.
Hanging a Nutmeal Lure
Nutmeal lures can be hung on the inside of trap doors using a short length of wire, as pictured. In this position they are out of view of the camera, but still receive adequate airflow to attract pests. Feed the wire through the small holes in the door and through the sides of the mesh bag, then twist the wire over on itself to secure the lure.
Insert the Liner
Peel the cover paper off the liner and place the liner in the tray with the sticky side facing up.
In windy areas, it can be beneficial to secure the liner to the base of the trap with a pushpin.
Close the Coroplast Doors
Fold the edges of the liner tray up and close the coroplast doors by inserting the tabs into the slots in the main coroplast body. The trap assembly is complete.
